You can hack Samsung S8's iris scanner - here's how

Yet another hack.....

The Samsung Galaxy S8 iris scanner isn't completely foolproof, according to German hackers who say they found a way to bypass the phone's lock-screen.

That's a problem for Samsung, which actually claims on its website that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus iris scanner is 'Security that's foolproof'. Oops.

However, this is more of an over-promise than an issue for most users. Many bio-metric unlock methods have been found to be vulnerable.

Samsung Galaxy S8 tricks and tips for better user experience

The Samsung Galaxy S8 - along with the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus - is arguably the most eagerly awaited Android phone of the year, so when your pre-order finally hits your doorstep you're going to want to get to grips with it right away.

We’re not just talking about its headline features such as its expansive, 5.8-inch near edge-to-edge display or brilliant 12MP camera either. The S8 holds a treasure trove of impressive features, some that have been shouted about a little less than others.

Yes, the phone’s octa-core chipset offers plenty of grunt and it’s filled with new and innovative biometric security features, but scratch beneath the surface, and there’s a wealth of further Samsung Galaxy S8 features just waiting to be explored.

These are the features that will make you feel like a tech wizard, the ones that will transform you from smartphone user to handset master. These are the Galaxy S8 tips and tricks you need to be aware of.

Samsung Galaxy S8 release date and everything you should know

The Samsung Galaxy S7 was almost everything we hoped for, with improvements throughout leading it to be one of the most powerful, stylish and all round accomplished smartphones on the market.
It may have scored five stars in review, but there's always room for improvement and based on the rumors so far that's exactly what we'll get from the Samsung Galaxy S8,

With talk of a new AI assistant, dual-lens camera, upgraded screen, no physical home button and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner there's plenty of information already leaked about the next Galaxy smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S8 release date

Hottest leaks:
  • No MWC announcement, but maybe a video tease
  • March 29 currently tipped as Galaxy S8 launch date
Samsung typically announces new phones at the end of February, but its mobile president confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 won't be announced at MWC 2017 – well, not announced in full at least.
Instead, we'll see the new Android Nougat phone teased in a one-minute video at the event on February 26, according to a new report out of Korea. Most of the company's MWC press conference will focus on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.

Expect 60 seconds a slowly rotating smartphone draped in dark shadows and have it all accompanied by booming music. Maybe even a tagline like 'The next big thing just got even bigger,' alluding to a larger display size.

The official launch date may happen a little more than one month later, with the newest believable leaks saying it'll be a March 29 launch event in New York that outs the new Samsung phone. The actual Galaxy S8 release date in stores is expected to be April 21.

Samsung's biggest phones typically go through a one month lag time between their announcement and actual shipment dates, so that part at least checks out.

Of course, we've also heard about other possible release dates, including April 18. Either way, Samsung isn't launching its phone as soon as it usually does.

Samsung Galaxy S8 news and rumors

You can find plenty of Samsung Galaxy S8 rumors on the internet right now, and some are likely accurate. Others we're skeptical about.

To cut through the noise, we've amassed all of the major leaks onto this page and are going to do our best to determine fact vs fiction.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S8 going to have a 4K screen, a cutting-edge Snapdragon chipset and 6GB of RAM? How about an even better camera, iris scanner and foldable screen?
Some of this stuff is true, others are a better fit for the Samsung Galaxy S9. Here are the latest rumors.

Samsung Galaxy S8 screen

Hottest leaks:
  • No flat version
  • 4K resolution or Quad HD
  • New 5.8 and 6.2-inch screen size
  • Super wide 18.5:9 aspect ratio
Samsung Galaxy S8 may give everyone what they want: a bigger screen without making the phone dimensions any larger. Is it finally happening?
It's going to come in two sizes, one with a 5.8-inch display and another with a 6.2-inch screen, both with curves and a Quad HD resolution, according to a leak obtained by VentureBeat.

That would make the Galaxy S8 display – in either size – larger than the 5.7-inch Note 7. Don't worry, it's not actually going to be any more massive.

The phone is said to max out the screen real estate by ditching the home button at the bottom and that always-gaudy Samsung logo at the top.

This is very close to an all-screen phone that nearly defeats screen bezel, as you can partially see in the leaked image above. If true, it'll have a wider 18.5:9 aspect ratio, not the 16:9 standard widescreen ratio.

Samsung consult new suppliers for Galaxy S8 battery

Samsung’s otherwise-excellent Galaxy Note 7 was ruined by poorly planned and improperly produced batteries. Although Samsung’s battery supplier wasn’t completely to blame, Samsung is taking no chances with the Galaxy S8. According to some fresh reports, Samsung will be manufacturing most of its batteries in house, and the parts it can’t manufacture will be outsourced to an experienced company in Japan. Japan's Murata may replace Amperex as one of the two battery suppliers for the S8 depending on how the talks proceed, manufacturing company is being tipped for the job, the Nikkei business daily reported

The report, which comes from HankYung, says that the battery supply will come 80 percent from Samsung’s own in-house battery supplier, and 20 percent from Murata Manufacturing in Japan. Reports previously said that LG Chem, one of Samsung’s rivals, would be supplying the other batteries, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Murata Manufacturing uses the factory from Sony’s old battery manufacturing business, which it took over last year.
The Galaxy S8 is expected to be displayed briefly at the upcoming Mobile World Congress trade show in February, but a full display isn’t expected until late March. That gives Samsung time to finish working out the final manufacturing details, and hopefully make sure the batteries don’t explode like that of the 7.
Other than non-combustible batteries, an edge-to-edge bezel-free display and possibly an under-screen fingerprint sensor are expected to be the big stars of the Galaxy S8. With Samsung’s profits haven taken a big hit from the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, and Apple is ready to go big on the iPhone 8, this phone will be make-or-break for Samsung.
The Galaxy S8 will replace Samsung's Galaxy Note 7, which was recalled globally last year after battery defects led to numerous phones catching fire.
Wrapping up its months-long probe, the smartphone maker said last month that faulty batteries from two suppliers—affiliate Samsung SDI and China's Amperex Technology—were to blame for the product's failure that wiped $5.3 billion off its operating profit.
Samsung's mobile chief, Koh Dong-jin, said in January that procedures had been put in place to avoid a repeat of the fires.
Samsung (ssnlf) and Murata did not immediately respond to requests for comment outside regular business hours.
What do you think about the new Sansung Galaxy S8.

Samsung S7 might hit the market earlier than expected

There have been rumors suggesting the South Korean phone company Samsung would be rolling out the S7 in less than a few weeks from now

Back in September, it was reported that Samsung was already working on the Galaxy S7 as it had been detected in database of Geekbench going by the name of "Lucky-LTE." Moreover, there have been reports suggesting that "Lucky-LTE" is internally known as "Project Lucky."

Early release

Samsung company which released its first S series in June 4, 2010 seems to break this pattern with the Galaxy S7, with sources close to Samsung suggesting that the device may be released in January 2016 in Barcelona. SamMobile reported that its sources have indicated that Samsung is already developing firmware for the new smartphone, which is roughly one month earlier than the process begun for last year’s Galaxy S6.
